1) Personal Data


According to Article 4 GDPR, personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person; an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

2) Contact Form

If you provide us with personal data in connection with an inquiry via our contact form, we use this data exclusively for the purpose of fulfilling our tasks in accordance with Art. 51, 57 GDPR, § 13 Hessian Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act (HDSIG), and § 40 Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) to answer your questions.

3) Complaint Form

Personal data that you provide to us in connection with a complaint pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR or § 55 HDSIG against a data processing entity (controller or processor) via our forms will be used solely in the context of our duties in accordance with Art. 51, 57 GDPR, § 13 HDSIG and § 40 BDSG to process your complaint. During complaint processing, it may be necessary, depending on the circumstances, to transmit personal data to the data processing entity (controller or processor) to which your complaint relates. If you do not agree to this, please inform us by activating the designated option field in our online form! If the data protection officer is not responsible for your matter, we will forward your complaint to the responsible data protection supervisory authority and inform you that your submission has been forwarded.

4) Reporting of Personal Data Protection Violations pursuant to Art. 33 DS-GVO (Data Breach Notification)

Controllers and processors are required, pursuant to Art. 33 (1), (2) GDPR or § 60 HDSIG, to notify the data protection supervisory authority without undue delay, and at the latest within 72 hours, if the protection of personal data has been violated. The Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information stores the personal data collected in connection with such reports due to this legal obligation and for further processing of the report, as well as to examine whether affected persons need to be notified pursuant to Art. 34 (1) GDPR or § 61 HDSIG.

5) Storage Duration and Retention Periods

Data collected via our online forms in connection with inquiries, complaints, and data breach notifications are stored for a period of five years. If we forward your message with your data to a competent authority for processing (a “transfer”), the collected data and the information about the transfer to the competent authority will be stored for one year. Personal data communicated to us in connection with the reporting of the data protection officer pursuant to Art. 37 (7) GDPR or § 5 (5) HDSIG are stored as long as a change notification is made, a report is withdrawn, or the reporting obligation ceases and you inform us accordingly (e.g., business closure, relocation to another federal state, etc.). When a new data protection officer is reported, previously reported data are overwritten; when the report is withdrawn or the reporting obligation ceases, all reported data are deleted immediately. All periods begin at the end of the year in which the processing of the complaint or inquiry is completed or in which the inquiry or complaint is forwarded to the responsible data protection supervisory authority.

6) Usage Data
For every request of an internet file, the following non-personally identifiable access data are stored for statistical evaluations:

  • The date and time of the request,
  • The amount of data transferred,
  • The access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.),
